The opening day of MICFootball Punta Cana took place this Wednesday at the Cap Cana Sports City, where more than 70 matches were played on the thirteen fields available.
All of this was met with great fan support, which filled The Fields, creating a festive and international atmosphere. More than 3,000 people participated in the first of four days of matches, including players, coaches, and fans, with some surprises.
Among these, Albion Elite Red’s narrow victory against Bayer 04 Leverkusen (0-1) in Group B of the U15 category. In the U14 category, ACFFI defeated Aston Villa by the same scoreline in Group D.
U12
In the U12 category, the favorite teams dominated: Porto won by a landslide in both matches. Barça and Real Madrid also recorded convincing victories. In fact, Spanish journalist Sara Carbonero was present at Cap Cana Sports City. Iker Casillas’ ex-partner was following the match of her son Martín, who is a goalkeeper for Real Madrid. This Thursday, the group stage will conclude, revealing the teams that have qualified for the final phase.
U13
South American dominance in the U13 category. River Plate scored a double victory in Group C. In Group D, one of the highlights of the first matchday was the debut of Inter Miami, where the sons of Leo Messi and Luis Suárez play.
U14
The first matches in the U14 category have placed Escudefut Jamp, Club Real Deportivo RD, as well as Olympique de Marseille and LA Galaxy at the top of the four groups. The United States team scored one of the wins of the matchday, against Catala FC Academy. But everything will be decided on Thursday.
U15
The match is also very even in the four groups of the U15 category. After Wednesday’s matches, qualification is still open for most teams. Club América leads Group A with two wins in two matches. It is the only team to have won both matches it has played in the category.

Atlético de Madrid had the same strong start in the U16 division, beating Team ISL and Bayamon FC in their opening match.
